The Story

About This Film

Katie & Gareth's wedding at the iconic Wollaton Hall in Nottingham was one of the most cinematic days we've ever filmed. For those who don't know, Wollaton Hall doubled as Wayne Manor in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises — and this couple leaned into that connection in the most brilliant way.

Japanese cars played a starring role throughout the day. Gareth and his friends drove their cars to the venue, and also picked up Katie from where she was getting ready. Wollaton Hall has one of the most impressive driveways of any venue we've visited, and capturing the convoy of Japanese cars sweeping up to the entrance by drone was an absolute highlight.

The ceremony took place in a conservatory-style building within the grounds — intimate, with a smaller guest count than many weddings, which made it feel incredibly personal. It was a very emotional ceremony, a real family affair with beautiful moments throughout. Afterwards, we embarked on what can only be described as an adventure around the estate.

We went up onto the roof of Wollaton Hall itself. Not many people get to do that. There's a spiral staircase that takes you right to the very top of the building, and the views from up there are extraordinary. We captured drone footage pulling away from the rooftop to reveal the entire estate — with Gareth wearing a Batman mask, because when you're on the roof of Wayne Manor, you absolutely have to. That shot alone makes this one of our most memorable films.

Rain made an appearance during some of our outdoor shots, but Katie and Gareth didn't care in the slightest — they carried on laughing, enjoying themselves, and giving us brilliant footage regardless. We explored the grounds, captured them amongst the garden games, and soaked up the atmosphere of this truly spectacular location.

The evening was warm and family-focused — couples dancing together, no wild party energy, just genuine love and happiness on the floor. Sometimes the quieter evenings make for the most beautiful footage, and this was one of those. A day that felt like a film, at a venue that literally is one. 🦇🎬
