About this film
Tracy & Kelvyn's wedding was a proper adventure — about two hours from our base, taking us up to the stunning Middleton Lodge estate and into the heart of Barnard Castle for the ceremony. It was worth every mile.
The couple got ready on site at Middleton Lodge before heading to Barnard Castle Methodist Church, which sits right in the centre of town. Passers-by were stopping to watch, taking pictures, completely caught up in the occasion — there's something lovely about a wedding that the whole town gets to enjoy. This was also our first Methodist ceremony, which brought its own unique traditions and made it a special learning experience for us.
After a traditional confetti walk outside the church — exactly what you picture when you think of a classic English wedding — the guests piled onto a brilliant old red London bus for the journey back to Middleton Lodge. It's one of those details that instantly adds character to a wedding film. Back at the venue, the sun was shining and guests spilled outside to enjoy drinks on the lawn while the couple soaked it all in.
Inside, a sit-down meal in Middleton Lodge's gorgeous dining space. But the evening was where things really took off. A surprise singing waiter appeared — pretending to stumble and cause a commotion before launching into song. The crowd absolutely loved it. Before long, a conga line had formed and was weaving through the venue. Tracy changed into an evening dress, and the bridal party topped the whole night off by building a Prosecco tower together. Glamorous, fun, and completely unforgettable. 🚌🥂🎤
